Mazars helping clients to focus on growing their core business

Mazars is unique among the larger professional services firms in Ireland in operating a dedicated department for providing clients with fully outsourced management reporting, accounting, payroll and related tax services.

“Our outsourced services department is staffed with dedicated, professional accountants, supported by the backing of a large professional team,” said Mairéad Divilly, partner at Mazars.

“We focus on providing a personal, tailored service to ease our clients’ workload and provide specialist support when needed.”

Divilly said the most frequently outsourced services included payroll, maintenance of accounting records, tax compliance and company secretarial services.

“There are many benefits to outsourcing, not least that it allows companies with finite resources to prioritise growing their core business,” she said.

“Outsourcing provides companies with peace of mind that their filing and compliance deadlines are in hand and reduces their risk of penalties for non-compliance.”

She said outsourcing key services guaranteed continuity, negating the risk of services being interrupted through the loss of a key staff member. Companies are also able to call on their advisors for expert business and tax advice.

“Outsourcing allows managers and business owners to relax in the knowledge that their accounting and compliance requirements are being taken care of by professionals, freeing them up to concentrate on their core business,” said Divilly.

Mazars shares its track record in outsourcing and gives potential clients access to existing clients so they can hear about their experience of working with Mazars.

Once a client decides to outsource selected services, Mazars can immediately implement a solution, discussing the needs of the client with them during the planning phase and tailoring a solution to best meet their requirements.

“Our assignment approach provides clients with a nominated manager at the commencement of the project, enabling the set-up phase to be completed quickly and efficiently and ensuring that the specific requirements of the client are achieved,” said Divilly.

“The manager then acts as the principal point of contact for the client and is readily available to the client on an ongoing basis.”

She said business owners who were considering outsourcing their payroll and accounting or other services should carefully weigh up the pros and cons of outsourcing for their business.

“It may make sense for your business to keep some services in-house whilst outsourcing other items such as payroll and tax compliance. Once a decision on outsourcing is made, choose advisers that listen to your needs and who will tailor their services accordingly,” said Divilly.

Mazars is currently rolling out new software for both its payroll and accounting services.

“This new software will improve our processes and help to achieve efficiencies for both Mazars and our clients,” said Divilly.

“We have also developed an in-house web-based portal enabling clients with operations outside of Ireland to track their compliance deadlines in each country they are operating in.”
