Roadmap for the Re-Opening of Society and Business

On Friday 1st May, the Irish Government published a "Roadmap for the Re-Opening of Society and Business".

This new document provides a timeline for the "slow, phased re-opening" of society and the economy over the coming weeks and months. The document can be downloaded here.

Virtually all of the restrictions currently in place are being extended for a further two weeks. The process of re-opening is due to commence on Monday the 18th of May, with outdoor workers - such as those in construction and landscaping - to be allowed back to work first. Garden centres, hardware stores and some retail outlets will also be allowed to re-open from this point.

Under the Government's roadmap, restrictions will then be eased in five phases over the coming months, with three weeks between each phase. Under the proposals, the final phase will be introduced in mid-August.
