EDITORIAL FICC

Dear FICC Members,

As we move rapidly towards the end of 2024, it is a time to reflect on the active and highly successful year we have had, here at the Chamber.

The team and several members have just returned from the Ireland France Business Awards in Paris.

Tom Dolan, winner of La Solitaire du Figaro Paprec 2024, was the guest of honour and the awards took place on board the Paquebot on the Seine..

The Awards recognise Irish and French companies that have made an exceptional contribution to the development of trade and investment between Ireland and France.

Congratulations to this year’s winners: Smurfit Westrock (Best Irish Company in France), AXA (Best French Company in Ireland), and Access Earth (Franco-Irish Business Newcomer of the Year).

Next year’s edition will be held in Dublin on 14th November 2025 so please save-the-date!

2024 has been a most successful and active year for FICC : 15+ new members; 40+ events, WG forums and webinars; a valued “landing service” for French companies entering the Irish market, an ever increasing PR and media presence and a stronger voice for the Franco-Irish business community in Ireland.

We would not achieve these positive results without the leadership and dedication from Aine Murray (President FICC), the Executive Team, the Council, the Patrons and all our members who have contributed so much over the last year. A special “grand merci” also to H.E. Vincent Guérend (former Ambassador of France to Ireland), H.E. Céline Place, recently appointed Ambassador of France to Ireland, the staff at the French Embassy and all the members of Team France, for their continued support and invaluable advice. Merci à toutes et tous!

And now Christmas is around the corner and we will celebrate with you all at the Christmas Lunch next Friday 13th December with special guest, Lara Marlowe!  We already have over 120 people attending, so practically a full house at this stage. This festive occasion will also be an opportunity to bid farewell to our outgoing President (Áine Murray) and to welcome our new incoming President (Chris Smyth, Perennial Freight).

We look forward very much to working with you all again in 2025!

Joyeux Noël et Bonne Année !

"LE NETWORK" AT AXA

T?? ????? ?? ??????? ??????? ????? ?? ??? ????!

The event was kindly hosted by AXA Ireland, who treated us to a delicious breakfast spread.?☕ We want to extend our thanks to Michael Comerford, AXA Direct Retail Director, for opening the session.

We then heard from Elodie Morin-Rager, Director of Business France Ireland who shared valuable insights about the work of Business France.

Business France plays a key role in promoting French businesses globally and fostering the international development of the French economy through their worldwide network. Business France Ireland specifically targets and supports Irish investors in France by facilitating Franco-Irish cooperation.
During the talk, Elodie highlighted the benefits of the V.I.E. (Volontariat International en Entreprise) programme, which offers an opportunity for recent graduates to gain international professional experience. ??

Today there are 150 V.I.E. participants in Ireland, one of them being our very own new V.I.E. Benjamin Fol! Following Elodie’s discussion, Benjamin gave us a very interesting ????? ??? ????????? presentation as he discussed his role as a Sales Engineer at GLOBAL Technologies. Global Technologies is an International full-service Technology Company specialised in designing, installing, operating and maintaining critical technical infrastructures and systems.

As always, it was a pleasure to see new and familiar faces. We are so appreciative to each and every one of you who have participated and engaged in these dynamic sessions with Le NETwork over the past year.

We look forward to reuniting in 2025 to continue sharing inspiring news and exciting initiatives from the vibrant Franco-Irish business community. ?? ??
