FICC Business Lunch with Minister Jack Chambers

The France Ireland Chamber of Commerce and our official partner Perennial Freight are delighted to invite members and guests to an exclusive Business Lunch with Jack Chambers TD, Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation.

Our Keynote Speaker, Minister Jack Chambers, will share the Government’s vision for Ireland’s infrastructure development and the delivery of the €275.4 billion National Development Plan to 2035, the largest capital investment plan in the history of the State. With major investment planned across housing, energy, water and transport, the NDP is central to Ireland’s ambitions for long-term economic growth, competitiveness and resilience.

The discussion will look beyond the scale of the investment itself to consider how Ireland can successfully deliver this ambitious programme. Minister Chambers will explore how the Government intends to fund the NDP, the anticipated impact of this investment on the Irish economy over the coming decade, and the key conditions needed to turn significant financial commitments into infrastructure on the ground. Particular attention will be given to the expertise, skills and human resources required to deliver projects at this scale, as well as the reforms being introduced to improve the speed and efficiency of infrastructure delivery.

Against a backdrop of increasing international uncertainty, the conversation will also consider Ireland’s economic resilience. Minister Chambers will address how the Government would navigate potential challenges such as a significant reduction in Corporation Tax revenues or a major geopolitical event, and what this could mean for Ireland’s ability to maintain its investment ambitions.

With Ireland’s upcoming EU Presidency also providing an important opportunity to build momentum around Ireland’s investment and infrastructure priorities, the lunch will offer a timely perspective on Ireland’s position within the wider European landscape.
