Stéphane Crouzat has been French Ambassador for Climate Change Negotiations, Renewable Energies and Climate Risk Prevention since October 2020. He was previously French Ambassador to Ireland since June 2017. He was diplomatic advisor to Ms. Ségolène Royal, Minister of Environment, Energy and the Sea (2014-2017) and President of COP21. He was director of the French Institute of Scotland in Edinburgh from 1993 to 1997. A graduate from Sciences-Po Paris (1988) and the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (2001), he worked on European issues at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters before being appointed head of the cooperation and cultural section at the French Embassy in Warsaw (2005-2008), then spokesperson at the Permanent Representation of France to the United Nations in New York (2008-2011). He was also Deputy Director for Central Eastern and Baltic Europe in the European Union Directorate (2011-2014).
