Now that Brexit has happened, it is the ideal opportunity to discuss the impact of this new economic and political environment and consider the opportunities for trade between Ireland and France.
The panel of speakers, moderated by Mary Honohan (PwC) will consider this topic now that:
- The EU has added a huge layer of unprecedented bureaucracy for dealing with the UK
- A large volume of goods are now stuck at UK Ports and cannot be shipped to Ireland.
- Staff have been trained in customs clearance procedures but they have no experience.
- The Ferry companies have reacted and added extra capacity to the direct routes from Ireland to Europe.
- Four extra vessels have been added to the Ireland to France route since the start of 2021.
Chris Smyth (Commercial Director, Perennial Freight) and John O’Loughlin (Partner Global Trade & Customs, PwC) will join the discussion along with Luke Egan, Head of Logistics, Meat Division, Kepak.
