Recruitment at Deloitte as new Galway office opens

Deloitte has officially opened its ‘office of the future’ in the Galway Financial Services Centre on Moneenageisha Road.

The firm marked the occasion with a celebratory event for employees and clients. Keynote speaker at the event was Connacht Rugby Head Coach Pat Lam. Fresh from the team’s success in the Guinness PRO12 Final, he spoke about the importance of culture in driving success in an organisation.

In September of last year, Deloitte announced the establishment of its Galway office, and the creation of 30 positions. A team of 20 people has been built to date, with opportunities still available with the leading professional services and consulting firm at all levels. Roles are open to experienced senior professionals with audit and tax qualifications, in addition to those who wish to gain a professional qualification with a leading professional services firm.

The firm has invested significantly in its offices in the Financial Services Centre. Based on the ‘office of the future’, contemporary desk and open plan meeting spaces are combined with formal client meeting rooms and the latest technology and communications to ensure the space reflects the collaborative and inclusive culture that exists at Deloitte.

Brendan Jennings, Managing Partner, Deloitte commented: “Having worked closely with businesses in Connacht for many years, we are very pleased to reach this milestone and officially open our offices here in Galway. This is a sign of our commitment to the area, which is an important economic hub for the vast array of medical technologies and ICT companies, and the many strong indigenous companies that are present. Therefore, it is an important hub for Deloitte, and we are excited about this investment in our business.”

Gerard Casey, Audit & Advisory Partner, Deloitte Galway commented on the success of the firm to date: “Over the last number of months, we have built a strong and experienced team in our Galway office. We have thoroughly enjoyed meeting and working with the innovative and successful businesses that are here in Galway, and demonstrating to them how our collaborative culture and approach, coupled with our insight, can have a real impact on their businesses. We are delighted with the progress that we have made, and indeed the response from companies here, and are proud to consider ourselves a firm fixture in the business community.

“Importantly, we are still interested in hearing from ambitious people, who are similarly enthused about making a real impact for both indigenous and multinational businesses in the Galway region.”

Deloitte in Galway offers a full suite of services, with a particular focus on audit, accounting and risk advisory, tax, corporate finance and restructuring, and company secretarial services. Areas the firm is seeking to continue to build its team in Galway include tax, risk advisory and corporate finance services. The firm is also looking for people with experience in the life sciences, and property and real estate sectors, following growth in these industries.

In addition to the existing management team in place at the time of establishment last year, Deloitte has bolstered its team to 20 people with the recruitment of senior personnel. In addition, a number of experienced professionals from other Deloitte offices have transferred and are now based permanently in the Galway office.

Deloitte has over 2,000 people in Ireland across five locations providing audit, tax, consulting, and corporate finance services to public and private clients spanning multiple industries.
