Top Ten LGBT Accolade for Sodexo Ireland

Sodexo Ireland was recently named one of Ireland’s Top Ten Places to work for LGBT Equality by the Gay and Lesbian Network (GLEN) at its second annual Workplace Equality Index Awards. The Workplace Equality Index benchmarks best practice and recognises those companies where LGBT employees can bring their full selves to work. It is Sodexo’s second time to feature at the Awards, country president Margot Slattery was named Senior Leader of the Year in 2015.

Kieran Rose, co-chair of Glen, said, “We are delighted to recognise the companies and executives like Sodexo Ireland and Margot Slattery who are leading the way in making Irish workplaces fully inclusive of LGBT people.These organisations and leaders are playing an integral role in creating a business culture in Ireland that values the skills, ideas and creativity that LGBT people bring to the workplace”.

According to the adjudicators, Sodexo scored extremely well in several categories that included a strategic approach to LGBT diversity and inclusion and action plan to deliver LGBT diversity, strong leadership, engagement and communications on LGBT diversity and inclusion across the organisation, visible LGBT role models and raising staff awareness.

The Workplace Equality Index Awards celebrates and benchmarks high performing employers who are clearly demonstrating how their organisations are inclusive of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans employees. The organisations in Ireland’s Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality have excelled across the benchmark in five key areas, LGBT inclusive leadership, LGBT inclusive policies and practices, inclusive culture, LGBT visibility and diverse business.
