The Chamber

New FICC President's welcome message

Mathieu Gorge, CEO VigiTrust, has been appointed the incoming President of the France Ireland Chamber of Commerce for 2018/2019.

Bienvenue, Welcome,

I am very pleased to have taken up the role of President of FICC for 2018/2019 and privileged to succeed Joanne Grant under whose leadership FICC has grown 25% and continued to reaffirm itself as one of the leading bilateral chambers of commerce in Ireland.

My vision is to strengthen FICC’s position as an influential and valued player in the bilateral relationship in the critical post-Brexit years to come. I believe that FICC now has an even more important role to play in encouraging French companies to invest in Ireland, and Irish companies to invest in France. Over the next two years, my ambition is to continue to grow the chamber even further by onboarding additional patrons, new corporate and SME members.

It is also important to point out that FICC is one key element of the France-Ireland business ecosystem. Together with external stakeholders including French Ambassador H.E. Stéphane Crouzat and Mission Economique of the French Embassy, Business France, NetworkIrlande, CCEF and French Tech Hub, we collaborate to provide our members with what we believe is the right mix of networking, social and business events throughout the year.

FICC is here to make it simple and effective for its members to maximize on business opportunities in France and Ireland. Over the past few years FICC has established a number of working groups (SME & Entrepreneurs Network, CEO Forum, Infrastructure, Finance, and ICT) which are dedicated to addressing industry and regional opportunities. Headed by a chairperson and vice-chairperson, they provide a fantastic platform for members to collaborate and influence bilateral trade in their areas of expertise. All members are welcome to take part in relevant groups and I would greatly encourage everyone to get involved.

Members are the lifeblood of any chamber! One of my priorities is therefore to ensure that all our members are aware that the growing team of FICC staff and councillors is here to listen to members’ ideas and work with them so that all members can maximize on opportunities that are part of their roadmap in terms of French-Irish trade. As FICC further develops member services, there are now many more ways to get support from the Chamber.

Together with FICC staff, Executive and Council Members, I look forward to working with all FICC members to enable them to maximize on bilateral trade opportunities between our two countries. We welcome opportunities to talk to new & existing members at all times. So don’t be shy and reach out to FICC or myself directly!

Je vous souhaite une très bonne année 2018 et reste à votre écoute pour continuer de faire grandir FICC et vos projets Franco-Irlandais.

Bien Cordialement,

Mathieu
