The Alliance Française Dublin is a French language and cultural centre located in the heart of the city. With over a century of history, it promotes French and Francophone culture and encourages intercultural exchange between Ireland and the French-speaking world. The centre offers French classes for all levels, a multimedia library, and a variety of cultural events throughout the year. It also features Café Madeleine, a bright space overlooking Trinity College, perfect for relaxing or socialising. The Alliance Française Dublin is a non-profit organisation and a Registered Irish Charity. It forms part of the Alliance Française Foundation, an international network that is particularly active in Ireland through committees based in Dublin, Cork, Kilkenny, Limerick, and Waterford/Wexford.
Business France is a public agency responsible for supporting the internationalization of the French economy. Operating under the authority of the French government, it plays a key role in helping French companies grow globally and in promoting France as an attractive destination for foreign investors. In Ireland, Business France acts as a bridge between the two countries’ business communities. Business France Ireland offers a wide range of services, including market research, business matchmaking, trade event organization (such as exhibitions and B2B meetings), and personalized support for both French exporters and Irish investors.
France’s Foreign Trade Advisors (CCEF) constitute a network of 4,500 business leaders and international experts, selected for their expertise, within the French export team and serving France. They carry out concrete actions on a daily basis in partnership with public and private stakeholders involved in promoting and supporting the internationalization of French companies. Present in France and in more than 140 countries, the CCEFs are entrusted by the public authorities with four missions: advising public authorities, supporting businesses, training young people in international careers, and promoting the attractiveness of France.
CCI France International is the global network of French Chambers of Commerce and Industry abroad. With over 120 chambers in more than 90 countries, CCIFI supports French companies in their international development and helps foster business links between local and French enterprises. The network offers a wide range of services including market entry support, networking opportunities, business delegations, and commercial development assistance. CCIFI plays a vital role in promoting French economic presence and expertise around the world.
The French Embassy in Ireland is the official diplomatic representation of France in Ireland. It is located in Dublin, the capital city, and has been present in Ireland since 1930. Its mission is to strengthen the relationship between France and Ireland in areas such as politics, economy, culture, and education. Under the authority of Her Excellency Céline Place, the Ambassador of France to Ireland, the embassy is composed of several sections: a political chancery, a consular section, a cultural and cooperation department, an economic service, a general secretariat, and a press office. The embassy provides various services to French citizens living in or visiting Ireland, such as consular assistance and passport services. It also supports Irish citizens who wish to travel to, study in, or engage with France.
Enterprise Ireland is the Irish government agency responsible for supporting Irish businesses to start, grow, and succeed in international markets. It works with companies across all sectors to drive innovation, increase exports, and create jobs in Ireland. Through funding, expert advice, and a global network of offices, Enterprise Ireland helps Irish enterprises scale globally and connect with international partners. The agency also plays a key role in promoting Ireland as a source of high-quality products, services, and technologies.
French Expert In Ireland is an independent publication launched in September 2023 by Jean-Michel Portefaix. He joined Dublin in May 2023 as an international technical expert in innovation and applied research based at NovaUCD. La French Tech Dublin is an initiative powered by the Ministry of Economy and Finance of France, promoting Dublin startups or innovative initiatives and helping them to enter the French business territory. Its mission is to connect French and Irish ecosystems to fuel innovation, growth, and impactful change. La French Tech Dublin is dedicated to creating a global platform for entrepreneurs, investors, and visionaries who are shaping the future.
NetworkIrlande is the business network for the French-Irish community in France. Supported by the Embassy of Ireland in France and affiliated with the Irish Chamber of Commerce, it brings together professionals, entrepreneurs, and companies with an interest in strengthening French-Irish economic and cultural ties. Network Irlande organizes networking events, conferences, and sector-specific workshops, providing a platform for collaboration, business development, and the sharing of expertise between both countries.
IDA Ireland (Industrial Development Agency) is the government agency responsible for attracting and supporting foreign direct investment (FDI) in Ireland. It works with global companies to establish and expand operations in Ireland, offering guidance, financial support, and strategic advice. IDA Ireland plays a key role in promoting Ireland as a leading destination for investment in sectors such as technology, pharmaceuticals, finance, and life sciences. With offices around the world, the agency helps connect international businesses to Ireland’s skilled workforce, pro-business environment, and access to the European market.
The Irish Film Institute (IFI) is Ireland’s national body for film culture. Based in Dublin, the IFI promotes film as an art form through its cinema, archives, and education programs. It screens a wide range of Irish and international films, supports film preservation and restoration, and provides learning opportunities for all ages. The IFI also makes Irish film heritage accessible both in Ireland and worldwide through its digitization projects and outreach initiatives. Each year, the IFI hosts the French Film Festival, showcasing the best of contemporary and classic French cinema to Irish audiences.
